Welcome to Follow Friday! I know it's been a while since I joined in, but I missed you guys so much I figured I'd sneak it in between studying for exams (it'll be our little secret, okay?).
This week's question:
Who is your favourite dad character from a book and why?
Well this one's a bit of a toughie. The books I read tend to lack father figures (it's part of the YA formula, I think) so there aren't many that stick in my mind. The ones that sticks out the most in my mind are Sirius and Lupin from Harry Potter, because even though they weren't related to Harry in any way, they were the closest things he had to a dad and you could see the pain Harry went through when these father figures were killed. I know I bawled my eyes out at the end of the fifth book (and I'm proud of it).
It's back to studying for me! But what about you guys?
Sirius and Lupin are good choices, my post has a Harry Potter related answer as well :)

I felt the same way about dads in Ya...they're pretty much nonexistent :) Then again, your answer is great! I wished I had thought of that!
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower by the way.
If you want to check out my choice you can find it here:

The HP father figures are popular tonight. But good choices!
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back by GFC and Linky!
I didn't think of Sirius - I went for Arthur Weasley instead, but I totally agree! I have to agree with you though, I did struggle somewhat this week - I think that'w hy there are so many HP Dads featured this week!
ReplyDeleteMy FF this week
Sirius is one of my favourite characters in Harry Potter. Lupin is also pretty high up there. Love these characters!

Ugh, I'm so done with that YA formula crap. I don't want non-existent parents ALL THE TIME. And I TOTALLY agree on Sirius and Lupin, and it makes you want to cough up tears just thinking about them.
ReplyDeleteSirius and Lupin are great answers! HP is awesome! Old follower.

I loved the relationship that Harry had with Sirius and Lupin. Seeing them together again in Deathly Hallows made me misty-eyed. Great pick!

ReplyDeleteThanks so much and I wished I'd thought of Harry Potter and father figures!
I can't believe I left out Sirius and Remus! They were father figures for Harry, and I still get all sad when I think about how he lost them before he could really spend time with them. (I also cried my heart out at the end of the 5th book, NO SHAME.)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm a new follower. Here's my FF. :)
oh you're right I love your choice! There both awesome!
