Welcome to Follow Friday! This week's question:
What drove you to start blogging in the first place?
Funny story actually! I made a blog in early 2009 but I never really got into it - I let it sit for a while without ever really doing anything with it. Then one day I was scrolling through Goodreads and I saw someone's review of a book that wasn't out yet. I read a couple reviews and got really excited about the book - and the reviewer mentioned that she got the book from netgalley. I had never heard of it but I wanted to read the book, so I headed over to the website, made an account, and sent a request.

My request was accepted and I sped through the book. It was only after I finished reading that I realized what the purpose of netgalley was...
Feeling more than a little bit guilty, I wrote a review (my first ever!) and posted it on Goodreads. Then I remembered: I had a perfectly good blog, so why not post my review there? I liked that I got free books from netgalley, so why not keep it up?
Two years and more than 700 followers later, I'm glad I didn't stop after one review.
How about you guys?

Bwahahahahahahaha. XD Okay, I had to laugh so much because it sounded just too good to be true. This is kinda awesome! I didn't know what NetGalley was about at first, either, but to request a novel and get approved and only then.. LOVE it! Seriously awesome story!

Fair enough - I like your honesty! Plus, the story is a lot more interesting than mine - though I think a lot of people have had blogs they've not properly utilized before book blogging!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
