Happy Friday everyone! I've been gone for a long time, but I thought I'd kick off my new year with an old meme.
What New Year blogging or writing resolution have you placed on yourself?
Not many! Although I do hope to get a little more writing done this year. The biggest blogging resolution I've made is probably this: to not wait so long between finishing a book and writing the review.
It's something I tend to do when I need time to process how I felt about a book, and everyone does it... but sometimes I end up waiting a little too long and find myself grasping for words when I actually sit down to write the review. Fear not though - this is one resolution I definitely intend to keep!
i think that's a great and reasonable resolution! good luck with it!

Oh wow! I am the opposite! I feel like I need to write the review as soon as I finish reading it otherwise I will forget details as time moves on.

Yes, it has happened to me too, you wait to get a good sense of the after taste of a book but at some point you crossed the line and the words you write sometimes don't feel 100% right

Thanks for stopping by and reading and commenting on my FF post.
ReplyDeleteGreat resolution, I too find, because I read so many books one after the other that I sometimes forget elements of the book that I wanted to include in my review. This year I plan to make notes as I read.
Following you back ;)
I have the same problem. And sometimes if I finish a book I REALLY love, I need to take a couple days to decompress before I write the review... Otherwise I gush like an idiot and people will think I'm crazy!

I know exactly what you mean. I try to have my review done before I start another book or else I just get all mixed up.

Thanks for following! I've followed back. :) I always wait too long. I feel like if I don't write things in 3 days... I'll lose my words.
ReplyDeleteAh! There's something I did to help me with that problem. I would keep an index card with the book title & info on it and then write my thoughts while I was reading the book and after I finished in an ordered list. Then, when I went to write my review, I would reference that card, and then my review wouldn't turn out so scatter-brained. :) Maybe that might help you keep your resolution. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for following my blog. Following back! :)

I understand the review writing problem *nods* I find that it helps me to change around the medium I write on, post-it notes have become my go to for getting thoughts down and then it's easy to transfer them to a blog post :) Following you back :D
ReplyDeleteI've made a free website where you can manage your book collection. I thought you might find it useful :)
