I'm a little week with this weeks post, but better late than never, right?
What do you do with your books after you're done reading them?
Nothing horribly interesting, I'm afraid. I usually end up shelving them or boxing them up - it really all depends on how much I enjoyed the book (5 star books stay on the shelves, while others may get put into my book boxes). Sometimes, if I feel like someone I know would really enjoy a book, I'll give it to them and tell them to keep it (that is, if I didn't enjoy it quite as much as they did). If I really didn't like a book, I'll add it to my "donate to the library" pile - but only in extreme cases. Once a book hoarder, always a book hoarder!
I definitely keep my favorites. I addition, I lend them out. My friends call my library Elizabeth's Lending Library.
ReplyDeleteThe ones that aren't my favorite go to our library's book sale or for our book month swap at my book club.

I kept too many. It's obvious by the explosion that is my office. Now with my Kindle the problem is obsolete.

I give away books that I know I won't read again. My favorites take up too much room. Thank goodness for ebooks!

Seems to be a lot of self-confessed hoarders! Gotta love that though :)

That looks like a good plan you have up there! I usually just keep all of mine and we're planning on giving away a few to other readers. Let's see how it goes. Great answer!

I think we're all just massive book hoarders - but that's great. With Ebooks getting more popular by the day, it's nice to know I've got some fellow paperback lovers out there!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hopping over :) have returned the follow on Bloglovin' & Twitter!

ReplyDeleteI love that you aren't afraid to give books away to friends though! What is the point of a good book if you can't recommend or give it away to a close friend??

I only use my library, so unfortunately, I can't hoard books! New follower via Bloglovin'! Thanks for stopping by! :D
ReplyDeleteLately, I've been really good at giving books away, the last time through a giveaway on my blog - I created bundles with books I had enjoyed and decided to share rather than to keep them to myself.
ReplyDeleteI also mostly buy e-books these days, I just don't have room for more than my favorites on my actual shelves.

I usually keep mine, though because I read so many these days, I try to get most of them from the library or NetGalley. I will usually buy something after the fact if I really liked it and want to add it to my library. Unless a book is brand-new, I always get first editions from Abe Books. Here's my FFF

I have no more room on my shelves, so I've started making piles...I should probably box up the ones I don't necessarily want to keep!

Book boxes! Smart idea! If I had that many I would do the same! I'm an ebook fantatic these days though.
